Admissions
Welcome to Ursuline!
We are now enrolling young women who want to join our family. Are you ready to develop your talents, grow in faith and make life-long friends? Do you like to sing, act, play sports or dance? If so, then Ursuline is the place for you. You will be a part of a caring community that believes your high school choices are important.
Students are admitted to Ursuline through a screening process which includes the following criteria:
- Demonstrated commitment of the family to Catholic education and a genuine interest from the student and family in joining the school community
- Recommendation from the pastor or religions leader of the applicant’s community which indicates that the applicant and family are willing to support the religious activities of the school (If no religious leader is available, the parents may fill out this letter of recommendation).
- Performance on the STS High School Placement Test which demonstrates that the student is able to meet the academic expectations of the school.
- Positive scholastic record (at least “C” average for previous two years) as demonstrated by a transcript or report card showing successful completion of eighth grade.
- Recommendations from an English teacher and Math teacher.
- Submission of completed online application
- A personal interview at Ursuline
Admission is based on the above evaluation of the student and on an assessment of the student’s potential for success in the programs offered at Ursuline. Consideration is given to families with previous affiliation with Ursuline or Cardinal Newman and to students from Catholic Elementary schools. Admission to Ursuline presumes that the parents and students accept and are willing to support the school’s philosophy and policies. Every person, as a child of God, has equal dignity and an inalienable right to education. Therefore, qualified students will be accepted regardless or race, color or national origin.
