And so we go again... Meeting our new cohort of #apprentices at Pure House, for their Welcome Day, Liam, Sam and Josh.Colleagues from all of the businesses in Pure Companies - Pure Vent Limited, Pure Fabs Limited, Pure Labs Limited and MACH AIRE, our new starters met people they will be working with over the next few weeks, months and years, on the way to completing their Fabrication & Welding apprenticeship, with the help of our friends Alliance Learning, our learning provider.Especially proud of our current Year 3 (nearly Year 4!) apprentices, Lauren, Owen and Tom, who will be acting as 'buddies' for Liam, Sam and Josh, helping them through the early stages of their careers with us. Watching them take charge and seeing how proud they were, guiding them through the workshops and explaining the tasks they will be expected to do, gave me the best sensation of pride. It has been a pleasure and also (and I don't say this lightly) an honour, to have had a little part in their growth over the last 3 years. Each one of them showing confidence and knowledge about their workplace. Our Apprentices are our companies future. Our Apprentices are our future leaders. They will uphold our Company *Vision* Creating Environments where people breathe quality air*Mission* Being essential to our customers, sharing our knowledge, experience and reliablity, breathing life into every opportunity*Values* We set the bar - We care - We are reliable - We innovate - We realise your true potential - We do the right thingIt has been a very rewarding dayThanks to everyone at Pure who helped put the day together. In the photosAdam Ettery (workshop manager) Tom, Liam, Sam, Lauren, Josh and Owen.Team Welcome in one of the Workshops.

Winning Bronze in the installer show has been a huge achievement for me.In reality, I’m fairly new to the heating game, going against talented guys with many more years experience under their belt has been hard work. Today I have been doing a little welding job at home, and it dawned on me, if I hadn’t had a hard apprenticeship while I was learning to be a welder/fabricator I would most definitely not be whereI am today. When I mean hard,I actually mean *Days standing in front of a press drill, fighting boredom and the pain of standing in the same spot all day, drilling 25mm holes 😞*Days grinding sharp corners from plates, until your hands and neck cramp up, not mention blowing your nose full of grind dust* weeks of doing the same task, with no satisfaction. Knowing that nobody will ever see your work. *treated as a robot for £2 per hour!I’ve always been grateful to every one of my employers especially in the early days. There’s two ways of looking at an apprenticeship. You think you’re just cheap labour and have all the sh*t jobs or as I stand here today , you could look back and appreciate the work ethic my employer taught me. Phones 📞 had no place during work hours, you got payed for every minute you worked and not one more. Apprenticeships teach you far more than just the trade , it molds you into the successful adult you hope to be. Today marks approximately half my working life as a plumber ! Ive been looking through some of my old projects … take a 👀 Advice to upcoming apprentices, don’t expect an easy ride , that comes once you master the trade. #welder #fabricator #apprenticeship #bethebest #grow #adult #workhard #schooleavers #standout #plumbing #heating #awards #trade #skillInstallerSHOW Refresh

APPRENTICE SPOTLIGHT: Lucas Bonnici, Chadwick Switchboards. An apprentice who started with NESMA member, Chadwick Switchboards, at age 15, Lucas Bonnici, is now entering his third year, and enjoying the precision, craftsmanship, and skills this industry is teaching him.“For those that stick with it, and learn the skills, it opens up more options going forward. You’ve learned metal fabrication and bending, you’ve worked with more tools, and you’ve worked on more complex jobs – this all makes you a more desirable employee in the future," says Lucas.“It’s certainly a more precision industry, requiring craftsmanship and attention to detail. There’s a stronger focus on intelligent work, with less physically demanding labour work,”he says.Lucas' father Michael Bonnici, who is Project Manager for Chadwick Switchboards, adds, “Apprentices are our future, and any company will hire a switchboard apprentice, knowing the level of skill they’ve acquired, and their attention to detail. The future of our industry demands that we invest in apprentices.”Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gd3tanfT#NESMA#AustralianManufacturing#Switchboards#LowVoltage#Apprentice

Amber is a first yearInternational Union of Operating Engineers Local 139apprentice working forPayne + Dolan | A Walbec Group Company. Learn more about Amber's journey to apprenticeship 👇What made you want to choose this career path?I ended up here completely by accident! I obtained my CDL, then completed the WI DOT’s Highway Construction Skills Training (HCST) and got hired by Payne and Dolan. Now I understand the cliche saying of “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”.What were you doing prior to joining the Operating Engineers?I was delivering pizzas while I was pregnant and prior to that, I had a lot of dead-end customer service and call centerjobs. What do you like most about your trade? There are too many things to list.I love being outside. I love the camaraderie and family I have now. I love that while I do somewhat of the same thing every day, it can be extremely different. I thrive on challenges and have survived by being resourceful and thinking outside the box and feeling confident doing what I do (most days haha). I love showing men that we can do the same work, sometimes even more efficiently. What advice do you have for other women that want to join the construction industry?Keep your chin up and keep your own goals. Lean on any and every resource offered to support you because it’s tough for women, and anything to take a small load off is worth it. Also value your time at home because you don’t have much of it during the busy season.#nationalapprenticeshipweek#registeredapprenticeship#earnwhileyoulearn#buildingwisconsin#tradescareer#careerpathways#empowher#tradeswomen#womensupportingwomen

This school year is not just about feasting, laughing and eating breakfast together at the Peter Thumb School in Hilzingen - no, we at Renfert also wanted to help you shape your future.😀For example, for an apprenticeship as a production mechanic (m/f/d), warehouse logistics specialist (m/f/d) or as a Bachelor of Arts (m/f/d) in Business Administration - Industry.👍The idea behind "Peters Brotzeit" is simple: promote community, connect generations and at the same time give you a glimpse into your possible professional future (at Renfert) and help you to broaden your career prospects. In other words, a win-win situation.👉Find your apprenticeship in our headquaters in Hilzingen now at renfert.com !The Peter Thumb School emphasizes the importance that the event was not just a breakfast, but an interactive platform for knowledge exchange and encounters. After all, it wasn't just about eating together, but also spinning ideas, making contacts and perhaps even laying the foundations for YOUR future careers.#renfert #makinworkeasy #azubi #apprenticeship #hilzingen #dental #dentallab

A Phoenix Spotlight – 10 Questions With… Garett Moir!1.What is your name, title, how long you have been here and please give a brief description of what you do at Phoenix. My name is Garett Moir, and I am the Instrumentation Manager in Red Deer. I manage and optimize a wide range of projects from start to finish, and I supervise and manage our employees. Additionally, I am still hands-on out in the field. I have been working for Phoenix for over a year now.2.How did you get started in the industry? In my youth, I found a passion for electrical through wiring and installing sound systems in my classmate’s vehicles in high school. I had meant to pursue a career in Electrical after high school but instead found a job opening for an Instrumentation apprenticeship which I planned to pursue after Electrical anyway. 3.What do you like best about working at Phoenix? What challenges you and keeps you engaged? What I enjoy most about working at Phoenix is the people I work with. Everyone is easy to get along with and we all work as a team to solve any and every problem that we are faced with. As most may know, this industry is constantly advancing and changing, so there’s always something new to learn whether it be understanding new regulatory standards, using, and accessing new device software, or implementing new equipment and hardware. This keeps me interested and engaged as there’s always something new to learn.4.What are you most proud of in your career so far? Helping to grow the Red Deer branch into what it is today. 5.What do you like most about our industry? That there is always something new to learn. I don’t think there will ever be a day where I won’t learn something new in this industry.6.What advice would you give to someone who wants to enter your field and work at Phoenix? I would encourage more young individuals to start their apprenticeships in high school via the RAP program, especially if they plan to be dual-ticketed one day. This gives them a head start on their career and will allow them to complete their apprenticeship at a young age. One of our largest challenges right now is getting more young individuals interested in the trades.7.What do you like to do in your spare time? What is your favourite hobby? In my spare time, I like to lift weights at the gym and play the drums. I also enjoy camping and side-by-siding with my family and friends. 8.What's the next place on your travel bucket list? Hawaii. 9.What shows are your currently binge-watching? I just finished watching “The Boys” on Amazon Prime. If you like superhero shows, vulgar language, and gore, this is a must-watch.10.What's something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know? My legal first name is Charles. Garett is my middle name. I am the 6th generation of Charles Moir in my family.

Barber-Nichols has officially launched its apprenticeship program, partnering with Warren Tech School. This program engages second-year students with hands-on learning experiences on lathe, mill, and grind machines. We currently have one student in our program and are excited to welcome Braden Stelley to the Barber-Nichols Team. When asked what Braden likes so far about working at Barber-Nichols, he shared the following: "The Hands-on training and in-depth explanation of the processes of good parts.Explanation of good attributes and daily tasks to be successful. Great Environment with amazing people who care for you and will take time to check in on you.Management takes time to check in on employees about work topics or how they are doing.Able to see a lot of sweet dogs on a day-to-day basis :)."This is just the start of our apprenticeship program, and we know the future is bright for Braden and Barber-Nichols because we are One Team All In.#manufacturing #turbomachinery #mentorship #apprenticeships #community #learninganddevelopment
